Online Poker
Online poker became one of the most preferred online activity these days. This game is not so different from the game played at B&M casinos, the only difference is that you don't have to leave your cozy home and all you need is a computer and good Internet Connection. Also, when you play, you don't touch the physical cards. Instead of that you use only the mouse and with it you play your game. Usually the blinds are posted automatically by the software you use and there is a fixed time to decide what to do and if it expires before you make a move, your hand is folded automatically.
Of course, as the regular game Online Poker uses a single deck of 52 cards, but there are some poker games that use more or less cards, depending on the variations such as adding wild cards like jokers. In most
games you start the initial game with an ante just to get the cards dealt. The money is put in the center of the table and is called the "pot". After each dealing round there is a betting when all the players choose from three options and according to their decision, they bet the necessary amount of money.
The poker options are:
Call - betting enough to match what has been bet since the last time you bet in that particular betting round. If you decide to Call then you would put the amount that you owed into the pot and you would stay in the hand.
Raise - when you raise you first put enough in the pot to match what has already been bet and then you raise the pot by putting an additional amount in. Now the other players will either Call, Raise, or fold.
Fold - dropping out of the current hand and losing the possibility of winning the pot. You don't have to put money in and you would only lose the ante, if it's on the first turn, or whatever you put in the pot later. Sometimes it's better to get out than to waste money on bad cards.
The winner usually is the player with the highest ranked hand, but there are some online poker variations where the lowest hand wins. In addition, some of the most played online poker games have High - Low variations, where the pot is split between the lowest and the highest hand.
